Hidden in Plain Sight

I painted this from some photo references and plein air paintings I did on my last trip to the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in California. There is a herd of endangered Pacific Bighorn Sheep that resides in one of the park's canyons. While they are frequently near the park's hiking trails, their perfectly adapted coloring allows them to all but disappear into the surrounding landscape.
