March 29th I made this painting in my back-yard. The river is flooded, our canoe untethered...it is adrift. It is the feeling of today...the light so beautiful, the swollen river threatening and we are adrift. I know it sounds sentimental but while standing in water, wearing an oversized snow mobile suit, enjoying painting...I felt tears just rolling down my cheeks. For all the medical personnel and all those ill and all those grieving I want to tether the boat, and contain the river.
