I am really happy with the composition of this piece as I had to go ‘out of the canvas’ and actually create a canvas shape which is demanded by the painting composition. So the canvas is none-rectangular (by largest dimensions: 129 x 112 cm / 44 x 51 “). Such a shape of the canvas brings an exceptional dynamic to the painting.
The painting features mix of impressionistic and academic approaches. Linen canvas (Lanificio Prato, Italy) is stretched over gallery wooden frame (4 cm/ 1.5 inch frame depth) making contemporary appearance of the painting.
