"All is one" This Hermetic axiom is the enigma that I find most interesting when observing the dualities of existence. Whenever "two" was mentioned to the great philosopher Pythagoras he would spit on the floor, a symbolic effort to show the distain of the dividing or the first separation from the whole, the unity, the one. Much like the plume of grapes, all round by nature, they all work together in harmony to grow to create the whole for which they are each a single part. The glass, in old dutch painting was symbolic of life, in my painting it is empty, not to represent a pessimistic lack of vitality, but, an empty vessel that is most most fufilled, and more ready to be filled, like each of our lives; yearning for growth.
