Elijah

Oil on canvas. Inspired on a Smoky Mountain morning walk at Cade's cove. I wanted to paint the animal's feelings that he was expressing that morning, patiently eating so close to the road, and suddenly looking at me with eyes of understanding. Hopefully I can suggest to the art viewer trough the paint strokes that sense of breathing trough the canvas, like that moment I wanted to capture from that morning walk in the mountains. Giving him such a name, my hope is to put emphasis on the humanity I felt from the this encounter.
