My Father

Like many artists, I have tried to paint my parents several times. This piece of my father was done in their living room, with all but one window covered with dark cloth to focus the light. The background is a throw that my father had in his office, and the pose was the only one he was happy to assume -reading. My father has always been scholarly and thoughtful, so it all came together quite naturally.
