Summertime

Living six months of snowy winter a year, when the summer arrives at last, I love to frequent water lily ponds and paint in plein air. These are moments of intense sensations. My painting ‘Summertime’, third of a series of bathers, in a water lily pond, depicting a young bather, bare-breasted, in communication with a swan, walking the water under a blazing sun, is the very evocation of the lyrics by Gershwin: ‘ Summertime and the life is easy… ‘
