Studio painting inspired by a Plein air adventure that didn't go so well along the Trinidad Coast. I was interested in capturing the mood of what I saw and felt that night, the dark clouds and high surf of Trinidad CA. The winters here along the northern CA coast can make one feel so small and grateful be on the safety of the shore.
