Impresiones de Iberia #5: Tavira Travessa

I enjoy traveling in Spain and Portugal. I’m drawn to the older parts of cities and the small, remote villages. I’ve gathered many images while traveling and have started a large painting project to create a series that documents my impressions of the Iberian peninsula. This painting, the fifth in the series, is of a small lane, called a travessa, in the old town area of Tavira, Portugal. I particularly liked the wild bougainvillea that was overrunning the lane, the arrangement of potted plants and trees and the play of shadows and light on the walls.
