Light Before The Dawn

(excerpts from article by Bopha Phorn Abc News) As an Artists and Full Moon chaser in one, going to experience this rarity was an absolute have to do. The rising of the moon, was clouded over, and un-viewable. Therefore I set my alarm for 3 a.m. so that I could go to the shore and watch it set. It was cold and crystal clear 29 degrees that morn. Another rarity for us here in SW FL. Of course I took my paints with me. A small Field Study was painted that morning for reference back in the studio. The light and orb it made, no photograph could pay justice to. It simply had to be painted. Excitedly therefore I did, and I then excitedly brought that plein air piece back into the studio, and drew up a sketch of how the studio painting would capture the moment. The figure a must to show the enormous scale of the moon! first studio painting worked on for the last two January's in the studio. The hope is to give the viewer an opportunity to experience the "At that moment..." of the Super Blood Wolf Moon set over the gulf, in the cold crisp clear air. It truly is "Light Before The Dawn"
