Basket Weaver near Palermo

As I walked along a coastal road in Palermo I encountered a shed filled with baskets by the side of the road with an elderly man sitting inside. He was silently weaving a basket. Since my Italian was not up to par, I approached with a small canvas and paintbrush in my open palms. I simply said "Per favore?" He responded with a shy smile and nod, looking down at his work almost immediately. We exchanged smiles again as I showed him my sketch before departing.
