The Ktunaxa are the Indigenous People who have occupied the area encompassed by the Kootenay and Columbia Rivers in what is now southeast British Columbia and a part of northern Montana and Idaho. Before retiring, I worked in this area for 17 years, and have many memories of it that I have wanted to capture in paintings. The mountains, the river and the golden larches and aspens are especially magical.
