This was a single session plein air painting of a local meadow I pass by frequently. I'd wanted to paint it after a snow, and when that chance came along it was a mostly cloudy day. I can remember during the sketching phase, as if on cue, the sun came out boldly for about 5 minutes. That worked out to be perfect, because my response was: "I like it better with the clouds," and it resumed its cloudy state with those unique colors for the rest of the painting.
