Dawn Over the Wharf

This is the oldest boat in our local harbour. She's a handbuilt wooden boat, made locally over 50 years ago. In this painting she is resting on her keel in the mud during the lowest tide of the year. Rarely do we have a view of the boats here left completely high and dry by the tides. I have painted this boat en plein air many times, but this is a studio piece.
