Sage Beauty, Autumn

On a painting trip to New Mexico, I was taken with the "wildness" of the plant forms, reminding me that there is still much of the Wild West remaining here. In this painting of plant/snow/water, I took advantage of several tools to create that loose, spontaneous feeling that impressed me in these wilderness forms, using knives, spatula, razor blade, and brush handle.
