This painting and all my paintings are started and completed en plein air. I paint multi sessions to complete my paintings and according to size, I put 20-40 hours of pein air painting time into each painting. My inspiration for painting plein air is the exquisite beauty of nature. I love to be outside and examine the mountains, rivers, flowers and much more, first hand. There is so much to look at and a full investigation is necessary to understand light and shadows. I have been a professional plein air artist for over 25 years and love it.
