Spent the day painting at MacDonald Lake in Glacier National Park. After having been briefed by Park Rangers with a scary lecture about bears and their interest in approaching artists, I set up facing the Lake and was painting when I heard the sounds of bears sliding down the rocky incline directly behind me. All alone and armed with my bear spray, I froze and turned my head to see what was coming.. it turned out to be a danger checking on me. Heart stopping experience!
