Dusk for the Tongva

Capturing dusk in Hahamogna Watershed Park in Pasadena, CA, this painting reflects on the sun setting just before the watershed underwent a major safety overhaul to secure the functionality of Devil's Gate damn. Over 40 ft of sediment and many invasive species that had washed down from the Station Fire were removed and are in the process of being replaced with native plants. An interesting parallel is drawn to the Gabrielino-Tongva tribes that originally inhabited this area.
